Consulting for Individuals and Teams
My passion is sustainable environmental design with children as active engineers.
As you can see on my coaching page, I specialize in the following projects:
- Outdoor concept development: Individual planning and implementation with children
- Micro farming with children: the foundation of self-sufficiency
- From earth oven construction to cookbook: child's play
- Building a clay house with children: engineers and artists at work
- I Can…! Educational Concept Development
Depending on your needs, I can offer you a theoretical introduction and consultation, or a coaching package for your desired project. Consulting and coaching can take place on-site or online.
Early Birds Istanbul participated in the first Outdoor Experiential Learning Congress 2024.
The OELC Congress 2024 in Istanbul, organized by the ENKA team and held on May 25, was a complete success. Many thanks to the OELC team!
Charlotte McAllister and I presented our book, Constructed Chaos – The Story of a Project-Based Preschool. The book was very well received, and we hope that it will inspire not only preschools and schools, but also businesses and families to create environments that focus on project-based learning.
Together with Tuğçe Kasap Bilaloğlu, we presented the "Clay Oven Construction" project described in the book as a practical workshop.
Participants received valuable tips based on our practical knowledge, for example, on how to analyze soil samples, produce the optimal soil-straw-water mixture, and, crucially, on the technique of tamping and processing the mixture into a homogeneous, soft mass. The workshop participants were enthusiastic, and after only a short time, numerous individual 3D oven models were created.
With this workshop, we aim not only to impart comprehensive knowledge about the natural cycle of oven construction from seeds, but also to contribute to the preservation of the clay oven tradition and the associated community. It's a simple and effective way to experience traditions and self-sufficiency together.
Outdoor Education Learning Congress 2025
Who knows about nature education?
Like-minded people from all over Türkiye gathered on Saturday, May 24, 2025, for the 2nd OELC Congress. Of course, Cansu Doğru, Tuğçe Bilal Kasapoğlu, and I were also there. Micro farming with children is at the heart of our EBİ project kindergarten in Levent. In a three-part workshop, we successfully demonstrated how a micro farm works in the middle of Istanbul.
First, various seeds are collected and stored in books or jars. Then, fresh vegetable and fruit scraps are turned into compost with the help of worms. This forms the basis for a fertile vegetable garden. Nature takes care of the rest, and we observe the growth of our plants and intervene when necessary. Just in time for the autumn harvest, we build an earth oven together with the children, in which we can prepare and process the harvested produce. This closes the circle in nature, and the micro farm fulfils its purpose:
A nature project with intensive learning opportunities that accompanies us throughout the year - and is equally enjoyable for children and adults alike.
The workshop participants took away many new ideas, and I would be delighted to receive news and photos of newly established micro farms.
