I worked with Regina as a teacher for eleven years. Thanks to her, my inner voice as an educator grew stronger and stronger; she always reminds me to give children choices, to "plan one activity while having five more up your sleeve," and to weigh risks carefully, but still trust the children. She taught us these insights and much more—not just through explanations, but by exemplifying these values every day and being a true role model.
When Regina decided to pursue a career in consulting after eleven years in teaching, my colleague and I felt ready to take on responsibility for the kindergarten. We were ready to carry on the school's mission as a stronghold of outdoor learning and project-based learning—with Regina's support at our side, of course. This marked a new learning journey for us as leaders, with many new responsibilities added to our existing tasks.
Regina made every step of this transition valuable by always being available—even when working across different time zones, from Africa to Turkey. She has a unique way of sharing knowledge, setting clear goals, and mindfully guiding us through them, which made our very first year as Outdoor School İstanbul run smoothly from start to finish. She always sets high but achievable expectations and is there to give us a pat on the back when we succeed.
As she always says, "learning by doing" is valuable—but with Regina, we are taking this path with confident and determined steps.
